How to Crack NEET in 6 Months — A 24-Week Battle Plan

📅 Published 4 May 2026· ⏱ 10 min read· ✍️ Dr. Khushi Dubey, NEET Mentor

Six months sounds tight, but it's enough — if you stop wasting weeks on the wrong things. This is the exact 24-week plan we give NEET repeaters at Shining Star Academy. Adjust the dates, but don't change the structure.

Before the plan — the brutal honest baseline

To crack NEET (qualify for a government MBBS seat) you need ~620+ out of 720. That's roughly 88% accuracy across 200 questions in 200 minutes. The plan below assumes you can dedicate 10-12 hours a day. If you can't, halve your target and stretch to 12 months.

Subject-wise weightage — what to focus on

The 24-week plan

Weeks 1-4 · Foundation Sprint

Read NCERT Class 11 Biology cover-to-cover. Solve every question at end of each chapter. Parallel: revisit Class 11 Chemistry NCERT (Inorganic + General Organic). Physics: revisit Mechanics chapters from Class 11 NCERT + HC Verma.

Weeks 5-8 · Class 12 Foundation

Same as weeks 1-4, but Class 12 syllabus. Biology Class 12 has Genetics, Biotech, Ecology — high-weightage chapters. Chemistry: Coordination Compounds, Surface Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics. Physics: Electrodynamics, Modern Physics.

Weeks 9-12 · Topic-wise Tests

Now that the syllabus is once-covered, test yourself topic-by-topic. Use NEET previous year questions (PYQs) only. Aim: 30-40 PYQs daily across subjects. Review every wrong answer in your "mistake notebook."

Weeks 13-16 · NCERT Deep Dive

This is the secret weapon. Re-read NCERT Biology and NCERT Chemistry — every line, every figure caption, every NCERT example. Roughly 80% of NEET Biology questions come directly from NCERT lines. If you skip this, you cap your Biology score at 280/360.

Weeks 17-20 · Full-Length Mocks

Take a full 200-question NEET mock 3× per week. Strict 200-minute timer. Career Point's All-India Test Series gives you AIR after each mock — track your trend. The goal isn't to score 700 in mock — it's to identify your 5 weakest topics and fix them.

Weeks 21-22 · Mistake Elimination

Stop learning new topics. Open your mistake notebook. Solve every question you got wrong in the last 12 weeks. Twice. The biggest mark gains in NEET come from not repeating mistakes, not from learning new stuff.

Weeks 23-24 · Peak & Taper

Last 2 weeks: 1 mock per day. Sleep 8 hours. No new topics. Revise Biology NCERT one final time. Stay relaxed — burnout in the last week destroys ranks more than missing topics.

Daily template (10 hours)

Five things that destroy NEET prep (don't do these)

  1. Hopping between coaching materials — pick one source and stick with it for 6 months
  2. Skipping NCERT Biology — costs you 60-80 marks. Non-negotiable.
  3. Ignoring Physics because "Bio is enough" — Physics is what separates AIR 5,000 from AIR 50,000
  4. Endless YouTube research — every hour scrolling "how to crack NEET" is one less hour solving NEET
  5. Comparing with social-media toppers — destroys morale, adds zero value
